Playbrick Wishlist
Hey there, I assume that very often the play brick we see at events is a collection of cast-offs that accumulate in play-brick bins, but I'm wondering: if you had the opportunity to 'curate' some play brick for a community center or children's hospital, what would the ideal collection look like? At ...

Re: Who has seen the LEGO Movie 2?
This is hard to do without spoilers. But we'll all get a chance to gush about all that in time, I guess. I enjoyed it. Someone commented that it wasn't as good as TLM, but it was a worthy sequel, and I agree. It's hard to avoid comparisons. It does bear mentioning that it wasn't as thematically fres...

Wow! I would have totally expected a 3d printed part to be too weak to do that! That's great!SurprisingEdge wrote: It's also held on the wall with 3 printed Lego-compatible bits: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lewis ... wmount.png

Hey Derek, welcome to the forum.
And may I say, that that is an AWESOME Saturn V display. It looks like the trusses below are printed, but is the rest of the platform Lego? Either way it looks great!

Regret over missing the Imperial Shuttle is at least 30% of the reason I sprung for the UCS Slave I.Kyler wrote:While a lack of room to display means I'm in no rush to find one, I would really like to have a UCS Imperial Shuttle one day.

Re: On White Whales
It was the mid-nineties. Every week or so my mother would alternate between driving to the local Zellers or K-Mart to buy socks or a mop or whatever it is that moms buy. Of course I would always beg to look at the toys, and every week I'd look at 6195 Neptune Discovery Lab . But it was $100, which w...

I think I saw you share this on Facebook but my reading comprehension must be shit because I didn't realise it was your build.
Love the sand texturing with the missing plates/recesses. I would never have thought to do that, but it really gives the beach a churned-up look.

Re: Make A Wish Fairy Tale Build
Yeah I ended up adding a few guys on Facebook at BrickCan and then just pestered them for dates and locations occasionally. It always felt a little awkward for me. If there was a public calendar even just listing the meeting dates (not locations), and whether or not this meeting or that are open to ...

Re: Lego Inventory/Spreadsheets
Thanks, guys. I'll look into using Google Docs, I think. I've been using Bricklink's Want List, but I don't find it terribly useful as an inventory management, as much as an ordering management tool. I'll have a look at Rebrickable, too.

Lego Inventory/Spreadsheets
I remember at BrickCan showing up to the collaborative build session and there was some brief discussion about inventory tracking and whatnot. Does anyone use Excel for this? (I think that's what was said in the session) Does anyone use a different inventory system that works better? If someone does...

Re: City 2018 rumours
Let's get some damn herbivores for the LEGO wilderness. I want a handful of moose and like a couple dozen deer please. Yes. You'd better believe I'm grabbing at least one of every new animal that comes out from here on. I can't believe goats slipped past me during the years I wasn't keeping a close...

Re: New to the forum?
I met some of you guys at BrickCan and this evening's VLC meeting, so I might as well finally do an intro ... If we've met I may have introduced myself as either Josh or Kenmore in person. I'm originally from Newfoundland, though I've lived a few different places outside of Canada in recent years. M...

Re: Non-LEGO bits in MOCs?
I think everyone has a threshold for non-lego elements beyond which they start to turn a dim eye toward the MOC (even if they're too polite to say so) and I think everyone's threshold will be slightly different. Almost no one seems to have a problem with lighting. Few people would have an issue with...
