The Awesomeness of Series 6 Minifigures

Post by Platypus »

Just want to kick off some discussion on the public forums about the amazing series 6. I got a whole box and just started opening them. The skater girl if by far the worse, and she is pretty cool. I love that there are 5 woman in this series, and all the parts are great. The Lepricon's gold pot is actually compatible with the handles from the new bucket (as seen in Mill Village Raid). Magic lamp is awesome, Roman is great, but his shield is a bit small, and Pink space girl might ne one of my favourite figs!

How about mixing the pink space gal with the punk skaters hair like this guy did?

Assuming you realize, that it's not 15 bandits, 24 mechanics and 21 butchers.

Those are just line totals.

I thought each box came with the same number of each fig. Is that not correct?

Yup... just my bad attempt at humour.

Its usually true. Series 3 had obviously differdistribution between early boxes and late arrival boxes. For some reason the earlier ones had two scientists and they latter changed to 4 scientists per box.

I might take you up on that. In series 5 & 6 what figs are you willing to part with?

Hey I was just wondering, where can you get a whole box of the minifigures, and how much does it generally cost?

If you are willing to travel south, the Fred Meyer I went to had 3 sealed cases of series 6 minifigs. The closest one to the border is near Bellis Fair mall. Plus, every week they offer a 10% off "home" coupon which applies to toys as well. I got 10 minifigs at US MSRP and I used the 10% off coupon. If you do go, they should charge you by the quantity, no special pricing on sealed boxes. So it would be: 2.99x60=179.40x0.90=$161.46.Good deal.

If you want to order online, you could get it on Amazon.fr, each box with tax and shipping would cost you €99,55. Plus you don't have to pay the VAT tax, which also deducts some money off the order. According to xe.com, that would be about $130. But the bad news is, you might be charged by customs if the package is delivered by UPS, if it is delivered by DHL then you should be okay. Here is the link to the Amazon.fr page: http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B005WGI ... B005WGIGWQ (if you can't read french, get Google Chrome, it will translate the page for you!)

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the advice, makes sense, I usually get my minifigs from Fred Meyer that location especially. Last time I went they had about 4 or 5 boxes that had been opened (and feeled out haha). I was at walmart last night in new westminster and they were selling the minifigs for $3.29... wasn't too bad, at least saves a drive =)

Looks like I will be heading down to Toytraders to pick some of these guys up! I have really only noticed them there for sale.. do the other stores sell them as well?

This series does look cool.. hyped about the Roman Soldier and the Minotaur. Has Lego ever really made Greek/Roman themed set before. I think some sets would be cool.. if they can do Eqyptian themed ones why not. With all the movies that have been coming out.. such as Clash of the Titans.. ( sequel due out in March!! ) and the Immortals you think we might see a set or two. Heck Duplo did it a few years ago lol.

Sorry rambling there... but so far this set does look good. Any word or ideas who might be in the next series? Is it 3 a year? When is series 7 due.. summer time?

Series 7 is due out in late spring/early summer. The packaging is supposedly red in series 7 and series 8 is black.

Oh yeah.. I have seen this picture before! I remember the little Red Riding Hood figure.. she might have to duke it out with the Werewolf from the Monster Fighters set lol. Is that a tarzan lego guy? The Aztec lego warrior looks pretty cool to!

My Fiance and I love the mini figures. She is really good and picking them out by feeling certain parts. We usually just pick up the unique ones.
Anyway. We go to London drugs in Squamish to pick ours up. they do a 20% or 30% of lego all the time, so there around $2,15 per pack after tax.

Next time I go, I will post what they got there, were there at least once every 2 weeks.
