How did they do that?? - part 2

Post by Frank »

Reminder: if you've had a "how did they do that?" moment, please
share. Even if you figured it out later and it then seemed obvious.
I'll probably learn something, at least.

Here's an easy one

(Awesome moc btw.)

What are those octagonal yellow pieces, especially the sloping
one? I haven't found them in peeron yet. Thanks.

Just after I posted I thought "hmm, I didn't try searching
for `octagonal'." That worked.

Indeed, Keith is one of the few people I know who use those octagonal pieces effectively: They are only really abundant in yellow, to my knowledge, and that limits their uses. Aquazone.

I have them in black, blue and tan as well. Lots of tan.

Well, I knew they were made in other colours, but not widely available. I have some other colours too - It just seemed to me that yellow ones were much more common.

Though, I just looked up the pieces on Peeron, and now I see I am fairly wrong - of those octagonal pieces, yellow is by far the most common, though each has several other colours available. (Straight tube pieces especially!)

Also it depends on what you collect. If you don't collect the divers stuff then you wouldn't have the yellow ones.
