Sears.ca 25% off Select Sets and $15 off $100+ coupon

Post by beethead »

Check out Sears.Ca for sales on Lego City, Star Wars, Space Police and Power Miners. All are 25% off plus if you order more than $100 you can use the $15 off coupon (941 612 477). For the $15 off coupon to work you must register and use a Sears credit card or Sears Mastercard. There are some reports of of people ordering by phone and using another credit card to pay and still get the $15 off coupon code. Keep in mind shipping to a Sears dropoff site is $3.00 but still cheaper than shipping directly to your door.

I got a Sears card last night to do this. I also got a $10 credit for signing up. I guess that's where the Venator posted on Craigslist came from.

You actually don't need a credit card to use the code. I tried it 2 weeks ago and it still works without it. But at least you got $10 credit for signing up.

Did you pay by cash or cheque? I didn't see that option.

All i did was ordered the stuff in my checkout cart. Then head to payment info and enter the coupon code. I paid with credit card.

I don't think Sears.ca accept cash. Were you talking about instores? Cause instores have different deals than sears.ca

Speaking of which is anyone here involved in the back and forth on there about the people selling MISB Sets, trying to make a profit from store sales? Not pointing any fingers. Just curious. Walmart also has sale this weekend. City Corner for 69.99 and some other starwars stuff. I hit up 3 stores in the USA looking for Agents Robo attack, they were all sold out at MSRP..grr.

City Corner is $59.99 at Sears.Ca, plus $3 for pickup at Sears or dropoff location.

Not a mistake. Its 25% off retail of $80 and works out to be $60. Walmart got it for $70 at the moment.

I saw the post and two replies before they got deleted and it certainly got under the skin of somebody. However, it wasn't me. I'm not against people making money, in fact I'm for it. However, if it is currently available at a lower price, then it's nice to know how to purchase it at that price.

Any reason you didn't by the Robo Attack from Canada with the 25% off and your $10 TRU savings card?

I thought Agents wasn't part of the 25% off sale at TRU? It only applied to Bionicle, Indiana Jones, Space Police & Power Miners. With Canadian MSRP and $10 off with taxes, paying the US MSRP was $10 cheaper before the exchange. Factor in the .94 exchange I got at the Casino it still would have been cheaper if I had been able to find it. Like I said I'm only after the 3 town figs so no rush. It must be a popular set for xmas.

Among the funnier Craigslist finds this week was someone trying to sell around 30 pieces of "70's Lego" built into a house for $40. I think the person was also trying to sell a bag of "70s minifigs" but of course the minifig wasn't invented till 1978 and in the picture all of the figs had arms and were clearly at the earliest late 90's.

Oh Kudos to the person also trying to unload 1/3 of a monitor box of lego with blurry pictures for $200 (the pictures seem to be taken in a way to imply there's more than there really is inside the box). The ad has been posted at least 5 times and I bet some of us have gone to check it out but the person remains "Firm"

I too saw a post, 2 replies, then another post explaining their concern. They were then quickly delated afterwards. People do have a choice of freedom in buying so i too am not too against it.

If it were me making those posts, I would have posted in the style of "Lego Venator for sale" then in the posting itself, I would list the details and to purchase using the Sears.ca link. Although, I've only been using Craigslist for a short while, I've seen a few people do that. Craigslist is not a forum for airing grievances and good for them deleting those posts. Then again, the responders if they felt they were in the right, shouldn't have taken the bait of the original poster and just report the listing.

Uh, you might want to check your Sears invoice or credit card statement. The $15 off $100 appears to work even if you don't pay using a Sears card, but once you submit your order, the coupon code gets cancelled!

I submitted my order last night and now, 10 hrs later, they won't let me cancel it. That means I will have to eat the stupid $3 handling fee. I'm kinda pissed about this...

Sorry to hear that your coupon didn't go through. I wasn't prepared to take a chance on it not working based on what I'd read and with what beethead wrote in the OP. Using the Sears Card, the $15 discount (as a proportionate discount on each product) did reflect on my confirmation e-mail.

What sets were you buying?

It's partially my fault for not doing a bit more research, but I'm mostly annoyed that the coupon gets removed AFTER you submit your order. And then 10 hours later, they were unable to cancel my order. Maybe I should have tried calling customer service immediately around 11pm Sunday night.

I tried buying 2x 7641 City Corner. At $60 each after tax, it's a decent price.

Getting a little off topic here but if you check out eBay there's an auction for 20 lbs worth of Lego from someone in North Vancouver. The auction ends at just before 7 PM tonight and the highest bid is $202 US, roughly $212 CDN!!! I'm sure some of you have it on your watch list.

I wondered if that monitor box of Lego on Craigslist included the weight of his instruction booklets. I emailed the seller on the first posting but then realized $200 was way to much. I'd rather put the money down on a specific set or parts rather than random pieces.
