There is no way the Taj Mahal is bigger. the pieces are all tiny and the thing doesn't build that big. The Falcon box weighed about 50 Lb, 3 of which was instructions, and some of which will be box and packaging. But That still leaves a lot of LEGO.

My mind is now at peace... After 24 hours, 49 minutes, and a bunch of seconds, the Falcon is complete. It would have been a couple hours shorter but I got distracted by LOST...

A few things to note for the owner:
- missing 4 red jumpers
- 2 black 1x4 stud less plates
I was very careful with organizing my build area. I can only assume that it is a LEGO error...

LEGO gives A LOT of extra parts this time around ~ maybe 60 parts?

Would I do this again? Perhaps as a favour. However this time, you buy the red bull! Lol...

This might be one of the few builds where you can't wait until it's finished - because you're getting sick/tired of building it!

thanks Pascal,
you have successfully convinced me to part mine out instead of building it first.

I know you're anxious to get some grey back in your collection, but how's about a group build (and destruct) before you part it out?

a group build could be doable.
-Dave how many people took part in the team build that was less 3 hours?

Fuzzy numbers again? I think the UCS Falcon came to $200 including taxes but still a nice gain to be had if you bought onto it.

I'll admit, I sold mine on Bricklink about a month ago for $900 + shipping (shipping was around $80 to Maryland in the US). I'm sure they can easily go for $1000 by now...

Guess that means I got my original back in 2008 for free (although I paid US$525 - which is still a lot less than CDN$680 + tax). :)
