Train Bridge

Post by Jonathan S. »

I loved Dean's train bridge he brought to the meeting so much I built my own. I made changes such as the black supports, as I don't own them. Basically changed everything from the bridge deck, down. And of course you can't build a train bridge and not have a train! So I made a modern western Apoc train, for my series one cowboy. Pictures coming soon. :)

Just wondering... Why bump a post that has no content? If you actually had something to post then the post would have been enough.

Ya, usually you would bump a question that still needs answering. Or an important topic forgotten. The only thing in this topic is your promise of pictures, so it would make more sense for me to bump this with "where is the pic?"

Nice bridge, looking forward to see the Apoc Western Train tho!

How did you do the curve underneath on your older Apoc Bridge Deck? would like a closer look!

The support you mean? Its about 100 4x6s squeezed together on one side.

Here's a tutorial:

Its a good curve, it had me wondering how it was done because it looked very solid on the side. The techinque doesnt seem that cost effective though :)

And..

hey, it looks like you used vertical beans on your train bridge, flipped on their side. That is interesting because Dean was only able to a build a few sections of his, because he was using the rare horizontal beams, which I think he only had 3 of. Given that a few people ordered the vertical ones (horizontal not being available) in a few recent bulk orders, we might be able to build a lot of this track.

I haven't seen Dean's bridge to compare, but great job on your bridge and train. I also like the Flak 88 in your photostream.

That technique is how I sort the larger plates in my collection.
I own a bit of Lego. A little obsessive by some peoples standards.

That is how I came to use this technique. after I bought my 50 or so 4x4 and 4x6 plates I stacked them like so. And now I use it in MOCs all the time. (its nice to not have to unstack them for use ;D )
