Waterfront Station

Post by TheRebricker »

This is getting built slowly in conjunction with the building of the Burrard Bridge. So far the initial digital version is taking shape. I plan to have the full front face with stepping down sidewalls so you can see inside, all the action and hustle and bustle that makes Waterfront such an great place to people watch.

I NEED TO DREAM SMALLER!

If anyone is interested in backing the project.... haha! It's going to be huge! early estimates place it on 16-18 32x32 base plates at 2 plates by 8 or 9 plates. Can't wait to add the figs and bring it to life!

NOTE: This is all my own original design.

Are you planning on doing an interior? Now that would be really cool and take it to the next level.

Looks great. I definitely see value in using a designer tool when planning a large architectural build.

Nice work! I'm always of two minds on using LDD or something. I'm a "just start building" guy, but then I dream smaller than you!

In the case of a project like this I know I need LOTS of certain parts but I try to order what I need both to not blow too much cash on parts I don't currently need and also to not underestimate what I do need. It's a tricky balance.

This is a great station to build. I had considered building once. I too looked at the amount of brick it would take and told myself maybe someday. Looking forward to seeing it when you do build it.

Totally the plan for this one. I want to try and build an "exo-suit" of the bagpipe player. If you've ever been down there when he's playing you'd understand. It impressive and NEEDS to be built into this MOC. Also the Transit fare-gates need to be in the station. I;m sure a small amount of congestion around them is in order as well.

This MOC will play well to being displayed and the nature of the building begs to be loaded with minifigs!
